Kayaks have been around for centuries, and paddle boards for decades, but there are still new ways to explore with these beloved water craft. One in particular has recently grown in popularity: clear paddle boards and kayaks.
At Lake Tahoe, a popular tourist destination on the border of California and Nevada, visitors now have the opportunity to rent completely clear stand-up paddle boards, which allow them to see to the bottom of the lake as they paddle around.
Likewise, visitors to the Grand Canyon in Arizona can rent clear kayaks with which to explore the Colorado River and an emerald cave, and visitors to Jupiter, Florida, can also rent clear kayaks and possibly see wildlife, such as manatees and dolphins, swimming around and under their kayaks.
While this trend is just starting, it seems likely that more and more lake and ocean destinations will begin adding the opportunity to explore with a clear paddle board or kayak.
